Where we came from

We started as a handful of recruiters who had grown tired of working in agencies that treated candidates like inventory. The pivot was simple: build a desk that runs at human pace, talks to people like grown-ups, and is honest about what we can and cannot do.

Most of the team have been in the industry for over a decade. None of us are graduates being given a phone and a sales target. The team is small on purpose - it means everyone we place can have a real conversation, not a script.

How we actually run

One named consultant per brief

You book a chat with a person, that person becomes your contact, that person runs the search, that person walks the candidate to start date and checks in at month three. You do not get passed around an account-management chain.

Friendly does not mean fluffy

We are warm and we are also thorough. Right-to-work, references, qualifications and salary checks are confirmed before we put a CV in front of you. The shortlist is what you act on, not what you start triaging.

We say no

If a brief is outside our range, or the salary band is unrealistic, or the role description is going to put the right people off applying, we will tell you on the first call. Saying no costs us a fee but keeps us useful in the long run.

What we will not do

Inflate salary expectations to win the brief. Send CVs we have not vetted. Use AI-generated cover letters and pretend a candidate wrote them. Pretend a hire is coming next week when we know it is two months away. Ghost an applicant for any reason, ever.

The clients we work best with

UK SMEs and mid-market employers, often south of England based but not exclusively, who would rather work with one named recruiter than a national brand. Founders, HR leads, ops directors and finance directors who can describe their dream hire in a paragraph and trust the desk to take it from there.

If you would rather a CV firehose, you will be happier elsewhere. If you would rather two cups of tea and a properly-vetted shortlist, you are in the right place.

Replacement guarantee

Every permanent placement comes with a 12-week replacement guarantee. If a hire does not stay, we re-run the search at no additional fee. The terms are written into the engagement letter.
